My creative practice is rooted in the connection with my intuition; a dance and a dialogue with the inner sense of knowing that calls me toward liberation.

Freedom from perfectionism, expectations, the rigidity of plans, and the harshness of judgment.

Instead, prioritising play and curious exploration permits a stream of consciousness to free flow, stretching the creative imagination and taking me on a wild adventure! That is the kind of art-making that I love.

That is the kind of art-making that heals me.

That is the kind of art-making that sets me free.

Nurturing a steadfast relationship with nature has been fundamental in developing that connection with my intuition.

Just as I sense every little twitch of the ocean’s currents underwater during a dive, I take heed of the same messages coming through my body; the ‘gut feelings’ that keep me in alignment with who I truly am and the path that is meant for me.

It’s becoming easier over time to trust this flow, like the river trusts its course over the rocks, and like the tree trusts its roots in great gusts of wind. Don’t fight it, don’t try to control it, just go with it.

I hope that you find a piece in this collection that resonates with you so deeply that it serves as a powerful reminder of the pure essence inside of you.

Acknowledgment

As many of us are immigrants, refugees, the grandchildren of colonisers, and/or descendants of those violently brought to this land, it is our collective responsibility to pay respect and recognise that the lands we occupy are the traditional territories of Indigenous nations. We are here because this land has been stolen and occupied forcefully.

Therefore, I respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land, waters, and communities in this dimension and beyond in which I work, live, and dream - the Byellee, Gooreng Gooreng, Gurang, and Taribelang Bunda people. I pay my respects to the Elders past, present, and emerging of Indigenous nations in Australia and abroad.

I recognise that the opportunity I’ve had to travel and live in different countries is a luxury; a wealth given to me by the system in which I was born. As I move through the process of unlearning and relinquishing that privilege, I endeavour to find ways to enact positive change in the global and local communities.

It is our collective responsibility to critically interrogate and reconcile with these colonial histories, both thoroughly and intersectionally. We must deconstruct the present-day implications of this colonisation to honour, respect, protect, and sustain this still-invaded land and its people.
